Starling Class 2025/2026
Children in year 5 are members of Starling Class. They are taught by Miss Harvey and supported in their learning by Mrs Marchesi.

Our topic for Autumn 2 is 'WW2'.
In our English lessons, we will be reading 'When the Sky Falls' by Phil Earle and we will be writing informal letters and narratives.
In maths we will be learning about fractions, multiplication and division.
Our history topic will be based on WW2. We will be studying how it started, the effects of it and will also be looking at some local WW2 history.
In science we will be studying 'Animals including Humans' and we will be describing the changes as humans develop to old age.
In our RE lessons, we will be looking at Islam and answering the question 'What does the Qur'an reveal about Allah and his guidance?'

PE:
This half term, we will be going swimming on Tuesday mornings. Children will need to bring their swimming kits to school with them.
Forest Schools:
Forest Schools will occur on Thursday afternoons, please ensure the children are dressed appropriately for the weather and bring sensible shoes/ wellies.
