The Languages Hub

Welcome to the Languages Hub - a place to celebrate language learning in our school.

At St Peter and St Paul Carbrooke Church of England Primary Academy we are keen to ensure that all the children in our school have opportunities to learn about different countries, peoples, cultures and languages.

Across Key Stage 2, language learning is mainly focussed on learning French, with further explorations of different languages in each academic year group. All children in Key Stage 2 have a minimum of 45 minutes of language learning timetabled each week.

From September 2018 we will also be introducing all children in Key Stage 1 to language learning by investigating languages and cultures from around the world as part of our vibrant new Key Stage 1 curriculum.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Linguamarque Bronze accreditation to acknowledge the work that we have done to embed languages within our school curriculum. We are now working towards our Linguamarque Silver accreditation which we hope to achieve in the Autumn Term 2019.

Tuesday 25th June 2019 - International Day 2019

This year children will choose between destinations of Australia, Germany, Hawaii, Spain and Brazil. Watch this space for more information coming soon.
